Shanghai Lishengte Medical Technology Co., Ltd. was established in June 2004, based on the achievements of the cochlear implant project of the Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University, the Shanghai Auditory Medicine Research Institute, and the Key Laboratory of Auditory Medicine of the Ministry of Health. It is an innovative high-tech enterprise dedicated to the research and development, manufacturing, marketing, and service of medical devices such as cochlear implants. The company is headquartered in Shanghai International Medical Zone, with a registered capital of 164.69 million RMB. Its controlling shareholder, Xinxing Cathay International Group, is a central enterprise supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
In February 2011, the REZ-I cochlear implant product developed by the company obtained the first domestic registration certificate from the National Medical Products Administration, filling a domestic gap. The company has obtained over 70 national patents, including 17 invention patents, forming complete independent intellectual property rights for cochlear implant technology. In 2010, the company's cochlear implant project won the First Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award. In 2012, the company was approved by the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission to establish the "Shanghai Cochlear Implant Engineering Technology Research Center". In 2013, it was rated as a "Shanghai High-tech Enterprise", and in 2019, it was selected as a "Shanghai Patent Demonstration Enterprise".
