I. Overview
Shanghai Yangsi Hospital is the largest privately-run hospital in Shanghai. It currently has 600 beds, with 20,000 discharged patients per year and 1.5 million outpatient and emergency visits annually. In October 2014, Hony Capital, under Legend Holdings, restructured Shanghai Yangsi Hospital. The hospital's development goal is to build a tertiary comprehensive hospital.

II. Business
The hospital has 25 primary departments and 75 secondary departments, with complete department setups and advanced medical equipment. It operates all year round with 24-hour outpatient and emergency services.

Five advantageous departments:
(1) In 2013, the Endocrinology Department was awarded as an advantageous department of Shanghai social medical institutions.
(2) In 2013, the Urology Department was awarded as an advantageous department of Shanghai social medical institutions.
(3) In 2012, the Orthopedics Department was awarded as an advantageous department of Shanghai social medical institutions.
(4) In 2012, the Stomatology Department was awarded as an advantageous department of Shanghai social medical institutions.
(5) In 2010, the Gastroenterology Department was awarded as an advantageous department of Shanghai social medical institutions.

Two special disease treatments:
(1) In 2013, the full-mouth edentulism (implant restoration) treatment by the Stomatology Department was awarded as a special disease treatment of Shanghai social medical institutions.
(2) In 2012, the treatment of mid-to-late-stage liver cancer (interventional therapy) by the Hepatobiliary Surgery Department was awarded as a special disease treatment of Shanghai social medical institutions.

The Health Bureau approved 13 items of second and third class medical technology access:

It is the first reform model hospital in Shanghai where the government purchases community medical and health services, reflecting diversified and multi-channel medical provision, proving that private hospitals can also perform well in community health work.

3. Appropriate management style is the best style: Investors and managers should not be combined into one; contracts should clarify responsibilities, rights, and interests. Combine capital with management (most economical).

4. Meet diverse needs of the public, expand business scope, and achieve 30-50% of non-medical income.
5. Increase beds to 1,000-1,500, form a team of 300 senior experts, achieve over 2 million outpatient and emergency visits per year, over 30,000 discharges per year, total annual revenue over 2 billion yuan, and building area of 100,000 square meters; significantly improve staff welfare with income doubled again.
6. Become a teaching or affiliated hospital.
