Wuhan Eighth Hospital

Wuhan Eighth Hospital, also known as Wuhan Anorectal Hospital, was founded in 1953. Its predecessor was "Zhongnan Post and Telecommunications Hospital". In 1958, it was renamed "Wuhan Eighth Hospital", and in 1988, it was additionally named "Wuhan Anorectal Hospital". Located in the central urban area of Hankou, near the intersection of Zhongshan Avenue and Liuhe Road, it covers an area of 7,305.84 square meters with a total construction area of 15,198.86 square meters. It is a Grade III comprehensive hospital featuring the diagnosis and treatment of anorectal diseases, integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, preventive healthcare, rehabilitation, and health education. The hospital currently has 719 active employees (excluding the South Campus), including 248 with intermediate and senior professional titles. It has 31 clinical and medical technology departments, 10 inpatient wards, and 499 open beds. At present, it possesses advanced equipment such as 1.5T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), 128-slice CT, laparoscope, Shimadzu digital gastrointestinal machine, Japan OLYMPUS fiberoptic electronic colonoscope, high-frequency electrosurgical system, and BK three-dimensional color ultrasound.
