本公司的前身是1988年3月经盐城市计经委批准,以盐城市拖拉机厂为基础成立的江苏黄海股份有限公司集团。1992年12月经江苏省人民政府批准,江苏黄海股份有限公司集团与江苏悦达集团有限公司所属五家企业改组合并为江苏黄海股份有限公司集团。1993年2月25日经江苏省体改委同意江苏黄海股份有限公司集团更名为江苏悦达股份有限公司。1993年11月经江苏省人民政府、中国证监会批准,向社会公开发行股票,并于1994年1月3日在上海证券交易所挂牌交易。
2001年1月,公司名称由“江苏悦达股份有限公司”更名为“江苏悦达投资股份有限公司”。
