Cangzhou Zhongye Equipment Manufacturing Materials Co., Ltd. is located in the Bohai New Area of Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, an important economic growth belt surrounding Beijing, Tianjin, and the Bohai Sea. Covering a total area of 12,797 mu, adjacent to the Shenhua comprehensive port, with convenient land and sea transportation and unique geographical advantages, it is an important production base for hot-rolled medium-width strip steel in northern China and a brand enterprise among China's top 500 companies. Since its registration in December 2006, with the increasing attention and investment from governments at all levels in the development of the Bohai New Area, the company has rapidly developed into a large-scale comprehensive steel enterprise integrating coal chemical industry, sintering, ironmaking, chain grate rotary kiln, steelmaking, rolling, waste heat and gas pressure power generation, seawater desalination, and sewage treatment.
The company's projects feature high design standards, first-class equipment, and advanced environmental protection facilities. The first phase of the large project, with a total investment of over 20 billion yuan, has been fully put into operation. By early 2013, the company achieved an annual output of over 7 million tons each of iron, steel, and rolled products, 2.2 million tons of dry quenching coke, and 600,000 tons of methanol, crude benzene, and tar. After years of accumulation and development, the company's scale now ranks among the top private steel enterprises nationwide and first among private steel enterprises in Hebei Province. It creates over 50,000 direct and indirect jobs and has been rated as a tax contribution model unit in the Bohai New Area. It is currently the largest producer of hot-rolled coils in China. In 2012, the Xinhua Metallurgical Group, to which the company belongs, ranked 199th among China's top 500 enterprises and 26th among China's top 500 private enterprises, achieving annual industrial sales revenue of 30.5 billion yuan, ranking first in Cangzhou City for two consecutive years. It is a large-scale steel enterprise group key supported by Hebei Province during the '12th Five-Year Plan' period, the vice chairman unit of the Metallurgical Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the vice chairman unit of the Hebei Metallurgical Industry Association. In 2012, based on the completed first-phase investment of over 20 billion yuan in Zhongye, the group continued to launch major and high-quality projects, cooperating with China First Heavy Industries, a super-large central enterprise, jointly investing 30 billion yuan to build a series of projects with an annual output of 3 million tons of high-end cold-rolled sheets, 1 million tons of color-coated sheets, and galvanized sheets, planned to be completed and put into operation in April 2014.
The overall production process is compact, with a reasonable layout, and can fully utilize the unique regional advantages of the Bohai New Area, the convenient conditions brought by the navigation of Huanghua Comprehensive Port, and the advantage of low logistics costs, providing superior development conditions incomparable to inland counterparts. In production, the company extensively adopts mature technologies and processes at home and abroad. In terms of equipment, it actively introduces excellent design and equipment manufacturers from domestic and foreign sources, based on famous domestic partners such as China First Heavy Industries, and introduces advanced equipment from the United States, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The overall equipment level ranks among the highest among private steel enterprises nationwide. As of the end of 2012, the company's main equipment and facilities include: 1 1250mm and 1 1780mm new alloy material rolling production line, 3 240m2 and 1 360m2 sintering machines, 2 10m2 shaft furnaces, 6 lime shaft kilns, 3 2500m3 and 1 1350m3 blast furnaces, 3 180T converters (equipped with LF and LH refining); 4 6m×55-hole coke ovens; 1 15000kw/h steelmaking waste heat power generation unit, 2 12000kw/h sintering waste heat power generation units, 3 18000kw/h TRT power generation units, 2 12000 coke oven waste heat power generation units, and 2 18000kw/h gas power generation units; as well as a 600,000-ton lime kiln production line, a 2 million-ton pellet chain grate rotary kiln production line, an 800,000 m² mechanized material yard, a 2.2 million-ton dry quenching coke production line, and a 200,000-ton methanol production line using coke oven gas, all first-class metallurgical equipment in China. The group's main products are high-quality carbon structural strip steel and low-alloy high-strength strip steel with thickness of 1.5-20mm and width of 450-1630mm, which can be directly used to produce large-diameter straight-seam welded pipes with diameters of 140-508mm and spiral welded pipes, highway guardrail plates, steel formwork, and other steel structures such as automobile beams and shelves. They can also be used as substrates for cold-rolled strip steel, further processed into galvanized sheets, color-coated sheets, and other high-end products, or used in industries such as thin-wall welded pipes, cable trays, barrel and can manufacturing, and stamping parts. The products are high-tech content and high value-added hot-rolled new alloy materials, oil well pipeline special steel, and special steel for railway construction, such as plates for locomotive vehicles, container plates, and machinery and equipment manufacturing, in line with national industrial policies.
Projects to be put into production in 2014: 1450 cold rolling line, 1450 hot rolling line, 2 2500m3 blast furnaces, 2 180T converters, 1 550m2 sintering machine, and other first-class metallurgical equipment production lines, expected to employ more than 17,000 people.
