Huizhou Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned enterprise invested by Samsung Electronics. The joint venture contract was signed on August 20, 1992, and production officially commenced in September 1993. The registered capital is USD 79 million, covering a factory area of 120,000 square meters with a well-designed layout and an elegant environment. Welfare facilities include a leisure garden, football field, basketball court, library, internet cafe, gym, barber shop, clinic, table tennis room, and TV room, earning it the title of "Garden Factory" from the Huizhou Greening Committee.
The company currently has over 9,000 employees. Its main products include Samsung mobile phones, MP3 players, MP4 players, DVD home theater systems, and other series, sold to more than 80 countries and regions worldwide and well received by users. In 2012, sales reached USD 13 billion.
In March 2008, it was rated as a "Labor Law-abiding and Credit-worthy Unit" by Huicheng District, Huizhou City. In March 2009, the Huizhou Samsung labor union was formally established. For many consecutive years, it has been awarded titles by Huizhou Municipal State Taxation and Local Taxation as a "Major Taxpayer," "Advanced Taxpayer," and "A-level Taxpayer," and by the government as an "Advanced Enterprise for Labor Harmony" and "Advanced Unit for Cleaner Production." It has also been rated for many years by the Guangdong Provincial Foreign Economic Committee as an "Advanced Enterprise for Foreign Investment and Export in Guangdong Province" and received the "Outstanding Contribution Award for Large Export Enterprises," as well as being recognized as a "High-tech Enterprise in Guangdong Province."
