Guangdong PetroChina International Business Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Guangdong Guoshi") was established in May 2002 with a registered capital of 120 million yuan. Its parent company, PetroChina International Business Co., Ltd., serves as the window company for PetroChina's foreign trade, primarily responsible for international trade in crude oil, refined oil products, petrochemical products, natural gas, import and export and re-export, energy conservation and emission reduction, as well as the construction and operation management of overseas oil and gas operation centers integrating storage facilities, refining, gas stations, and transportation means, and commercial reserve depots and terminals at key coastal ports in China. In 2013, it achieved a trade volume of 350 million tons, a trade value of 268.4 billion USD, and company assets of 216.6 billion yuan.
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of PetroChina International Business Co., Ltd. established in South China, Guangdong Guoshi is responsible for fully implementing and executing the parent company's business strategy, management policies, and market development in South China. The company adheres to the principles of market-oriented and diversified operations, specialized and networked port services, and focuses on the core oil and gas business. It creates demand by leveraging the storage capabilities of the Nansha oil depot and regional advantages, coordinating with the international business company to develop the market for natural gas, refined oil products, petrochemical products, coal, and other bulk energy products in South China and Southeast Asia. The company is structured into 9 departments: Refined Oil Products Department, Petrochemical Products Department, Crude Oil and Natural Gas Department, Risk Control Department, Financial Planning Department, General Affairs Department, Asset Department, Commerce Department, and Safety Supervision Department. It has three holding companies: Guangzhou PetroChina Hongye Storage and Transportation Co., Ltd., Guangdong Hailutong International Shipping Agency Co., Ltd., and Guangzhou Jinhua International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd. Its substantive asset, the PetroChina Nansha Oil Depot, has a total storage capacity of 765,000 cubic meters, making it the largest bonded refined oil product depot in South China. It is a key component of PetroChina's coastal storage and logistics strategic deployment and an important part of ensuring the oil product supply in South China. Currently, the company's main business varieties include refined oil products, biodiesel, oil blending materials, fuel oil, petroleum coke, coal, natural gas, xylene and other chemical products, and carbon emissions trading. Its business scope includes oil product and petrochemical product trading, enterprise customs declaration and inspection port services, storage and transportation, ship and cargo agency services, etc. Since its establishment, Guangdong Guoshi has achieved an annual trade growth rate of 46.8%.
