Formerly known as the 211st Brigade of the 22nd Division of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Engineering Corps, it was transferred to civilian status collectively in Nanjing in September 1983 and reorganized into its current entity. In December 2007, it was wholly restructured into China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Co., Ltd. Third Construction Co., Ltd., affiliated with China State Construction Engineering Corporation, and listed on the stock market in July 2009.
