Carnival Company was founded 15 years ago by Ding Fangfei, a graduate student in regional economics at Peking University. It owns 11 enterprises: Changsha Carnival Bus Co., Ltd., Changsha Carnival Fuhao Passenger Transport Center, Changsha Carnival Fuhao Passenger Transport Center Ningxiang Passenger Transport Department, Changsha Tongchang Passenger Transport Co., Ltd., Tongchang Freight Branch, Shaoyang County Carnival Taxi Co., Ltd., Changsha Carnival Automobile Maintenance Service Co., Ltd., Changsha Tongchang Bus Co., Ltd., Changsha Carnival Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., Loudi City Carnival Passenger Transport Co., Ltd., and Changsha Carnival Taxi Co., Ltd. It is mainly engaged in urban public passenger transport, urban taxi passenger transport, highway passenger transport, freight transport, automobile maintenance and parts sales, and real estate development and sales. The company currently has a total of 1,115 operating vehicles of various types, including 338 urban buses, 450 urban taxis, 208 highway passenger vehicles, and 100 freight muck trucks. The company's total assets exceed 200 million yuan, and its annual tax payment reaches over 10 million yuan. The company has 251 management employees, of which 185 have a college degree or above, and more than 2,100 drivers and conductors.
Mr. Ding Fangfei, Chairman of the company, is a deputy to the Changsha Municipal People's Congress. He holds one bachelor's degree (bachelor's degree from Shenyang College of Finance and Economics) and two master's degrees (master's degree from Peking University and MBA from Hunan University). He also serves as an external part-time tutor at the Business School of Hunan University, executive director of the Hunan Huxiang Culture Research Association, deputy secretary-general of the Changsha Youth Federation, vice president of the Changsha Transportation Association, and vice chairman of the Sports Association of Kaifu District, Changsha City.
Changsha Carnival Bus Co., Ltd. is the first private enterprise in Hunan Province to enter the public transport industry, and it is also currently the enterprise with the largest share of purely private capital in the public transport sector in our province. It was established in January 2004. As of June 2009, it had 338 buses and 11 operating routes. After several years of development, Changsha Carnival Bus Co., Ltd. has accumulated certain experience in bus management, established good relations with various functional departments, and gradually improved the construction of various station facilities.
The company has successively won honors such as Changsha's "Consumer Trustworthy Unit", "Contract-abiding and Creditworthy Unit", "Advanced Private Enterprise", and "Hunan Province's Most Respected Non-public Enterprise". It is a member unit of the Hunan Province Urban Public Transport Association and passed ISO9001:2000 international quality management certification in November 2004.
