Guangdong Southern Electric Power Science Research Institute

Guangdong Southern Electric Power Science Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Southern Electric Power Research Institute) is a legal entity supervised by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province and registered with the Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province. It is a major technical service organization of the Southern Energy Bureau of the National Energy Administration and the Provincial Electric Power Emergency Office, responsible for related electric power undertakings in the southern region (the five provinces and regions of Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan, and Guizhou).
The Southern Electric Power Research Institute is primarily a professional institution engaged in the research, development, and service of high-tech electric power technology. Its subordinate branches include Guangdong Electric Power Vocational Training College, Guangdong Southern Electric Power Customer Service Center, Guangdong Fenlai Information Technology Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Jielong Electric Power Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Southern Elite Training School. It serves the Southern Energy Bureau and the Provincial Electric Power Emergency Office, and has also provided technical services to numerous power generation enterprises under Chinese and foreign power generation groups such as Huaneng Group, Datang Group, CPI Group, Yudean Group, CLP Power, and China Resources Group, as well as other enterprises related to the electric power industry.
At present, the Southern Electric Power Research Institute has formed a scientific research institution with the Technology Center, Design Center, Equipment Center, and other departments as its core, boasting strong technical strength. It specializes in electric power technology research topics, technology development, technical consultation, technical services, promotion of high-tech electric power technologies and products, and popularization, dissemination, and promotion of electric power science and technology. At the same time, the Southern Electric Power Research Institute maintains close cooperation with the Provincial Association of Electric Power Facilities Installation, Maintenance, and Testing Enterprises, the School of Electric Power of South China University of Technology, Guangdong Vocational College of Water Conservancy and Electric Power, and multiple institutions of higher learning.
