Hunan Zhong'an Biological Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as Zhong'an Biology) is a high-tech enterprise that has passed the GMP inspection of the Ministry of Agriculture, specializing in the research, development, production, and sales of livestock and poultry biological products. It is a designated production unit for major epidemic vaccines by the Ministry of Agriculture. Zhong'an Biology is located in the scenic * Economic and Technological Development Zone of Liuyang City, Hunan Province. Its predecessor was Hunan Biological Pharmaceutical Factory, founded in 1958. It is one of the earliest veterinary biological product manufacturers under the Ministry of Agriculture and has over 60 years of history in veterinary biological product production. The company has a registered capital of 109 million RMB, a factory area of 125,026 m2, and a production plant building area of 10,086 m2. It possesses modern production equipment, advanced production technology, and a comprehensive quality control system. The company has 4 vaccine production workshops and 10 vaccine production lines that have passed the national Ministry of Agriculture veterinary drug GMP inspection, capable of producing two major series of products for livestock and poultry, including over 40 varieties and more than 140 specifications, with an annual production capacity of 10 billion doses (heads) of livestock and poultry vaccines. The company has always focused on the research and development, production, process improvement, immune effect evaluation, and immunization program assessment of live swine Japanese encephalitis vaccines. It successfully developed the first live swine Japanese encephalitis vaccine in China. In 2005, it obtained the 'National Class I New Veterinary Drug Certificate' for the live swine Japanese encephalitis vaccine, filling a domestic gap and making tremendous contributions to the prevention and control of swine Japanese encephalitis. Currently, the company holds 25 veterinary drug product approval numbers, including 22 live vaccine products and 3 inactivated vaccine products. It produces 16 vaccine products annually, with main products including live swine Japanese encephalitis vaccine, live swine fever vaccine, live pseudorabies vaccine, inactivated porcine circovirus type 2 vaccine (DBN-SX07 strain), live porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome vaccine (R98 strain), inactivated bivalent vaccine for porcine transmissible gastroenteritis and porcine epidemic diarrhea, live swine erysipelas vaccine, and inactivated bivalent vaccine for Newcastle disease and avian influenza (H9 subtype), etc. The company currently has over 200 employees, with more than 80% holding college degrees or above, including 25 senior technical and management personnel with doctoral and master's degrees. In terms of research and development, the laboratory is equipped with advanced instruments such as real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR machines, fully automatic microplate readers, high-speed refrigerated centrifuges, ultrafiltration concentrators, high-shear emulsifying mixers, fully automatic chromatography purification systems, and NanoDrop ultra-micro spectrophotometers. The company has 30 full-time R&D personnel, including 4 senior experts such as State Council special allowance experts, provincial and ministerial level titled experts, and doctors. Additionally, among the 4 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering in the vaccine industry, the company has hired Academician Zhang Gaiping of the Chinese Academy of Engineering as chief scientific advisor and established a provincial-level 'Academician Workstation' in cooperation with Zhong'an Company.
