Beijing Food Science Research Institute is a comprehensive food science research institution integrating scientific research, testing, training, environmental impact assessment, achievement transformation, and journal publishing. It houses standing institutions including the National Meat Processing Engineering Technology Research Center, the National Meat Food Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, the Chairman and Secretariat Unit of the Meat and Egg Products Processing Professional Committee under the National Agricultural Products Processing Technology R&D System, the National Meat Processing Technology R&D Sub-center, the National Soybean Processing Technology R&D Sub-center, the Chairman and Secretariat Unit of the Meat Processing Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, the Chairman and Secretariat Unit of the Meat and Egg Processing Sub-committee under the Agricultural Products Processing Standardization Technical Committee, the China Innovation Relay Station, the Construction Project Environmental Impact Assessment Center, the Asia-Pacific Meat Science and Technology Training Center, the China Condiment Association Technology Research and Development Center, the Brewing Sub-station of the Industrial Microbiology Center Station under the China Culture Collection, the Beijing Key Laboratory of Meat Processing Technology, and the Second and Third Beijing Food Quality Supervision and Inspection Stations. It holds a pivotal position in the industry. The institute operates with the R&D Department, Testing Department, Environmental Engineering Department, and China Food Magazine as its main operational entities, and relies on the Policy and Economics Research Office, Industry Department, and Training Department to carry out basic research in food science, engineering development, safety testing, environmental engineering assessment, and personnel training, striving to build strong platforms for food technology innovation, food safety assurance, and food technology information media. With the vision of being 'top domestic and internationally renowned,' the institute adheres to the operational philosophy of 'innovation as the soul, talent as the foundation,' strategically advancing scientific research. It boasts a professional and well-structured research team and has undertaken over 150 provincial and ministerial projects, including the National '863' Program, the Science and Technology Support Plan, the Spark Plan, and the National Natural Science Foundation. It has achieved nearly 200 major scientific and technological results in fields such as food processing technology, quality and safety control, equipment development, and wastewater treatment.
