Guangzhou Hong Kong Jockey Club Horse Racing Training Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Conghua Racecourse") is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. In 2008, the Hong Kong Jockey Club successfully assisted in hosting the equestrian events of the Beijing Olympics, and in 2010, it successfully assisted in hosting the equestrian events of the Guangzhou Asian Games. Subsequently, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Conghua Racecourse, the Hong Kong Jockey Club converted the equestrian venue designed and built by it for the Guangzhou Asian Games into a thoroughbred training center. After eight years of renovation, Conghua Racecourse officially commenced operations in August 2018. Since then, the Club has formulated the "Racing Development Vision 2023" plan, and starting from the 2025/26 season, the Club will hold races in the mainland to promote the comprehensive development of the equine industry in the Greater Bay Area. Among these initiatives, the spectator stand built within the Conghua Racecourse will provide better viewing conditions and venue for races. Once everything is in place, Conghua Racecourse welcomes all visitors to a place for socializing, gatherings, and shared enjoyment.
Conghua Racecourse covers an area of approximately 150 hectares and features four tracks, including a hill track for trainers to conduct special training for horses. The well-equipped equine clinic and farrier shop are larger in scale than existing similar facilities in Hong Kong. The Racecourse also has multiple paddocks and specially designed horse swimming pools, which will help maintain horses in good condition. The horse training and care facilities at Conghua Racecourse will help the Club further enhance the level of horse racing. Looking ahead, Conghua Racecourse has the potential to support the development of the equestrian industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the entire mainland.
