Southwest Electronic Equipment Research Institute

The 29th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (referred to as "29th Institute") was established in 1965 and is the first research institute in China dedicated to overall technology research, equipment development, and production for electronic information control. It is now located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, with a military product R&D center, a civilian product R&D center, a high-tech industrial park production and manufacturing center, and a testing and training base, covering a total area of nearly 2,000 mu. Over the past fifty years, the 29th Institute has undertaken the development and production of related equipment in multiple fields, with its main equipment representing the top level of the domestic electronic information control industry.

The 29th Institute operates as a group under the modern enterprise system. After more than fifty years of development, it has gradually formed scientific research and production capabilities such as "R&D innovation, testing and evaluation, core manufacturing, and service support." With over 5,000 employees, it is the recipient of the national "May Day Labor Award," a national demonstration base for innovative talent cultivation, a national outstanding contributor to skilled talent cultivation, and an advanced unit in national spiritual civilization construction. It is also the national key laboratory for electronic information control, the 29th Institute.
