本中心为广州市首家市级民办听障言语康复专业的社会工作服务机构，2011年9月在广州市民间组织管理局注册，广州市民政局为业务主管单位，属非营利、公益性民间组织或社会组织。是我国残疾人康复事业与社会工作人才队伍建设结合改革的新生事物。中心主要面对听障儿童进行听力和言语康复训练，具体形式接近普通幼儿园教学，无需手语教学。多年来、本中心为广州市特殊儿童康复事业作出很大贡献，目前已有近60名特殊儿童经中心康复，步入常态社会，生活、学习与常人无异。
