Wuchang University of Technology

Wuchang University of Technology was founded in 1997 and has developed into a full-time regular undergraduate university with engineering as the main body, management and science as the two wings, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines including economics, literature, art, law, medicine, and education. In 2018, the university passed the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching qualification assessment. The university is located in "Wuhan·Optics Valley of China", covering an area of 828,100 square meters, with a building area of 444,000 square meters. It is situated at the foot of the beautiful Meinan Mountain, surrounded on three sides by Tangxun Lake, the largest urban lake in Asia. European-style buildings are nestled among green mountains and clear waters, presenting a picturesque scene. It is one of the top ten most beautiful lakeside campuses in the country.
The university has 13 colleges, including the School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Intelligent Construction, School of Life Sciences, School of Health and Nursing, Business School, School of Humanities and Law, School of Art and Design, School of Film and Media, School of Marxism, School of General Education, School of International Education, School of Modern Industry, and School of Continuing Education, offering 56 undergraduate and associate degree programs. There are currently nearly 19,000 full-time undergraduate (associate) students, postgraduate students, and international students.
◆ Faculty. The university adheres to the strategy of strengthening the university with talent, possessing a well-structured and highly qualified faculty, and has formed a number of distinctive, influential, and promising teaching and research teams in most disciplines. There are currently 956 teachers, including 241 doctoral degree holders. Among them, teachers with senior professional titles account for 50.1%, teachers with doctoral degrees account for 25.2%, and dual-qualified teachers account for 40.6% of professional teachers. There are 18 experts enjoying State Council allowances and more than 20 foreign experts and professors.
◆ Teaching, research, and living facilities. Each college has a teaching and laboratory building. The per-student value of teaching and research equipment, the number of seats in multimedia classrooms and language labs, and the number of teaching computers all exceed the Ministry of Education's "ministerial standards".
There are 180 professional laboratories covering various disciplines, including a large number of cutting-edge technology laboratories such as an industrial robot laboratory, VR technology laboratory, 3D printing laboratory, big data laboratory, network security laboratory, IoT technology laboratory, UAV low-altitude remote sensing laboratory, ion chromatography laboratory, bioinformatics laboratory, photography studio, and flight attendant training cabin. The library has a building area of 37,070 square meters, an elegant environment, and advanced facilities, with 1.73 million paper books, 2.179 million e-books, and 125 Chinese and foreign electronic resource databases.
Various facilities are complete, and the security system is comprehensive. The experimental teaching center, innovation and entrepreneurship center, academic exchange center, student service center, student activity center, faculty apartments and cafeterias, 3D cinema, standardized student dormitories, national standard sports fields, clubs, fitness centers, financial service outlets, hospital, supermarket, etc. are all available.
There are 203 stable internship and training bases, including 2 provincial-level internship and training bases, 1 provincial-level demonstration base for college student innovation and entrepreneurship, and 1 Hubei Province service outsourcing talent training base. It has 2 provincial advantageous and characteristic discipline groups; 12 provincial-level program development points; and 19 provincial-level courses; 4 provincial-level teaching teams; 8 provincial-level excellent grassroots teaching organizations; and 9 provincial-level teaching achievement awards. It has 5 international standard research platforms and provincial-level research platforms; presided over the formulation of 2 ISO international standards (among similar universities); and received 7 provincial-level science and technology awards. It ranks among the top of similar universities nationwide.
