研究院采用分布式组织方式，目前在全国设有5处技术实验室，从事仪器仪表、航天与制导、公共交通、有机能源材料等方面的研究开发。成都实验室主要从事普及型射频仪表和计量基准的研制工作，包含频谱仪、网络分析仪、接收机、信号源等，同时负责运营科创论坛等网站，为成都地区的创客空间和无线电爱好者提供基础技术支持。
