Shenzhen Guowei Electronics Co., Ltd. was established in 1993 and is the first integrated circuit design company launched under the national "909" project. It is mainly engaged in the research and development, production, testing, and sales services of special integrated circuits. Its product portfolio covers seven major series, including microprocessors, programmable devices, memory, network bus and interfaces, analog devices, SoPC system devices, and custom chips. After restructuring at the end of 2012, the company was successfully listed and is now affiliated with Guowei Semiconductor, a listed company under Unigroup (stock code: 002049).

The company is a national high-tech enterprise, a key national integrated circuit design enterprise, and a key national "little giant" enterprise specializing in new and distinctive technologies. Its products have won one First Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, two Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award, one provincial and ministerial level First Prize, and multiple provincial and ministerial level Second Prizes.
