【Rail Engineering Business Unit Profile】
BYD's Rail Engineering Business Unit began production and operations in April 2016, and its organizational structure was formally established in August 2016. It is mainly responsible for all engineering construction work for urban rail transit business, including the design, manufacturing, and construction of track beams, track support columns, bent caps, lines, and stations.
BYD began laying out research and development in the rail transit industry in the previous decade, investing nearly 5 billion yuan. Leveraging its long-term technical reserves in batteries, motors, and other fields and working tirelessly, it developed the fully independent intellectual property rights electric-drive straddle-type monorail "SkyRail" in 2016, formally declaring its entry into the trillion-level rail transit field. From the rollout of the first track beam for BYD's SkyRail project on June 20, 2016, to the official opening of the Pingshan experimental line on October 13, 2016, all employees of the Rail Engineering Business Unit played a crucial role.
