ASICS, a name well known to sports enthusiasts worldwide, began as early as 1949 when founder Kihachiro Onitsuka manufactured his first pair of running shoes in a family workshop in Kobe, Japan, and has since been committed to the development and manufacturing of sports shoes and sporting goods. ONITSUKA TIGER, founded by him, had gained the love and respect of athletes around the world since the 1956 Olympics.

In 1970, TIGER became the largest running shoe manufacturer in the United States, with over 70% of famous athletes wearing TIGER shoes and dominating the sports arena. In 1977, Mr. Onitsuka, aiming to diversify products and improve performance, invited garment factories and equipment factories sharing the same business philosophy to establish a new international-scale company, and ASICS was officially born!
