Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH (hereinafter referred to as "ERBE"), a renowned manufacturer of medical instruments, was founded in 1851 and has a history of 172 years. ERBE is headquartered in Tuebingen, a picturesque university town in southern Germany. In 1923, ERBE produced the world's first electrosurgical unit. After a century and a half of continuous pursuit, its leading products, high-frequency electrosurgical units and argon plasma coagulation units, are now renowned worldwide for their advanced microprocessor and sensor technology. Erbe electrosurgical products have become the standard configuration for surgeries in major medical institutions and training centers globally, and Erbe has an active and professional presence in the global medical academic field. The company ranks first in the world in the production and sales of high-frequency electrosurgical and argon plasma coagulation units. In recent years, ERBE has launched a new, epoch-making Hybrid Knife system and a new generation of electrosurgical super workstations globally. In addition, the company also produces and sells cryotherapy equipment series.
Erbe's Chinese subsidiary was established on September 1, 1999, and a representative office was set up in Shanghai in September 2000 to handle market promotion and support for ERBE products in Greater China, Outer Mongolia, and North Korea. In 2010, Erbe (Shanghai) Medical Devices Co., Ltd. was established. To provide even better services to customers, the ERBE CSIP (Customer Satisfaction Improvement Plan) was launched at the end of the same year, achieving outstanding results in after-sales service satisfaction evaluations in the medical device industry, such as the "China's Outstanding Medical Engineers" competition.
After 18 years of efforts, we not only hold the largest market share in the domestic high-frequency electrosurgical and ultrasonic scalpel medical device markets (with cumulative sales of over 20,000 units of various host devices), but our theories on electrosurgical technology applications have also been included in the national higher education textbook "Frontiers of Medical Device Technology". In 2015, we organized the compilation of the first Chinese monograph on electrosurgery, "Development and Application of Electrosurgical Technology". In addition, we participated in the compilation of the textbook "Principles and Clinical Applications of Medical Equipment", and we are currently smoothly carrying out the compilation of the "Implementation Guide for Medical Clean Equipment Engineering". In terms of academic exchanges between China and foreign countries, we have achieved fruitful results. ERBE China has jointly established an international exchange and training center with Heidelberg University in Germany, and has actively participated in various international academic exchange activities with domestic experts, sparing no effort to bring Chinese doctors onto the global academic stage for academic promotion and surgical demonstrations, letting China's voice be heard on the world stage and realizing the national rejuvenation dream of the Chinese medical community.
