Beijing CapitalBio Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CapitalBio Technology") is the industrialization platform of CapitalBio Corporation and the National Engineering Research Center for Beijing Biochip Technology, and is a core enterprise of Tsinghua University in the field of life and health. CapitalBio Technology was registered and established in August 2012, with production, R&D bases, marketing and operation centers for biochips and instruments in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Chengdu, Dongguan, Hong Kong, and San Diego, USA. It is a typical high-tech enterprise with a mix of intellectual, technological, and capital intensity.
CapitalBio Technology adheres to independent innovation and translation of research achievements, based on the new generation of biological detection technology. It possesses a complete industrial chain integrating R&D, production, sales, and national third-party independent medical laboratory services. In response to the national health policy of "prevention first", it closely combines modern medicine with traditional Chinese medicine, creating a comprehensive health industry sector that integrates health products, health management, medical rehabilitation, and big data. Currently, CapitalBio Technology has subsidiaries including Beijing CapitalBio Medical Laboratory Co., Ltd., Dongguan CapitalBio Muhua Gene Technology Co., Ltd., Chongqing CapitalBio Xinqing Medical Technology Co., Ltd., and CapitalBio Yihe Health Science and Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. Relying on the strong R&D strength of Tsinghua University and the National Engineering Research Center for Beijing Biochip Technology, CapitalBio Technology has obtained over 300 authorized patents at home and abroad, with a patent conversion rate of nearly 50%. It has successfully developed dozens of products and services with independent intellectual property rights, including biochips and related reagents and consumables, instruments and equipment, software databases, life science services, clinical testing services, and health management, among which more than ten are internationally pioneering. Products have obtained over 130 various domestic and international certifications such as CFDA, CE, GS, CB. The company has successively passed the laboratory accreditation of the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), the certification of TÜV Rheinland quality management system, the accreditation of the American Society for Histocompatibility and Genetics (ASHI), and the accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
As one of the earliest approved pilot units for individualized medical testing by the National Health and Family Planning Commission, the CapitalBio Medical Laboratory under CapitalBio Technology has also become one of the first batch of pilot units for clinical application of high-throughput gene sequencing technology in genetic disease diagnosis, prenatal screening and diagnosis, preimplantation embryo genetic diagnosis, and tumor diagnosis and treatment projects. It is also the unit with the most complete qualifications so far. Currently, 23 independent medical testing sub-centers have been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission as national demonstration centers for gene testing technology application.
In recent years, CapitalBio Technology has closely focused on the Healthy China strategy, with a focus on birth defects and chronic disease health management. It has built a birth defect prevention and control system based on 23 national demonstration centers for gene testing technology application, and a chronic disease management system with community chronic disease health management centers as platforms. It adheres to focusing on the grassroots, prevention first, equal emphasis on traditional Chinese and Western medicine, assists local governments in completing medium and long-term chronic disease planning and the Healthy China 2030 chronic disease planning goals, builds innovative national chronic disease prevention and control demonstration zones, promotes the development of the health industry, enhances people's sense of gain and happiness, and reduces the direct and indirect economic burden caused by chronic diseases.
Relying on a sound biotechnology platform, CapitalBio Technology provides instruments, equipment, supporting reagents and consumables, scientific research service outsourcing, and overall experimental solutions to domestic and international life science research, medical testing, new drug development, health management, judicial identification, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and food safety fields. It has established strategic cooperation with nearly 100 well-known domestic top-tier hospitals, universities, public security, and judicial institutions. It has also established partnerships with internationally renowned companies in the life science and medical diagnostics field such as Thermo Fisher Scientific and Roche. Its series of products and services have been exported to more than 30 countries and regions in North America, Europe, Asia, as well as countries along the "Belt and Road" initiative.
