Amid the continuous development of the global commercial aerospace industry, Shanghai Ouke Wei Hangtian Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Ouke Wei Hangtian") was officially established in June 2014 upon the approval of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Shanghai Microsatellite Engineering Center (Innovation Academy for Microsatellites, Chinese Academy of Sciences). Ouke Wei Hangtian is the first registered commercial aerospace satellite company in China, positioned to innovate satellite products and business models for satellite applications. It now holds over 100 items of various intellectual property, and possesses multiple industry qualifications including National High-tech Enterprise certification, National Quality Management System certification, qualifications for scientific research and production institutions, and procurement permission certification for the entire military, among others.
As a pioneer among Chinese commercial aerospace companies, Ouke Wei Hangtian, relying on its comprehensive qualifications, excellent technical capabilities, and broad market recognition, fully responds to the national policy of military-civilian integration and has successfully completed several major national model tasks. From September 2017 to January 2018, it provided all 12 sets of data transmission systems for China's "Remote Sensing 30" satellites groups 01-04 across four launches. Currently, the 12 satellites carrying Ouke Wei Hangtian's data transmission units are operating well in orbit, receiving user recognition and praise. In August and October 2018, the "BeiDou-3" M11, M12, M15, and M16 medium orbit navigation satellites were successfully launched into orbit, each equipped with global message communication payloads developed with full participation from Ouke Wei Hangtian.
Ouke Wei Hangtian currently employs nearly 100 full-time staff, including 1 chief scientist, with over 50% of employees holding master's degrees or above, and an average age of 33. All core personnel come from national aerospace overall units, each with over 8 years of aerospace experience, qualifications of chief designer or above, and participation in numerous national model tasks. The initial team mainly consisted of former employees of the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites, CAS. With development, it gradually attracted mature talents from other industry units, such as the Fifth, Eighth, and Ninth Academies of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the Tenth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, the China Academy of Telecommunications Technology, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and other institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The personnel's expertise covers satellite engineering R&D, satellite payload R&D, ground terminal development, ground measurement and control operations, satellite application services, marketing, and operations.
