China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Corp. Ltd. (abbreviated as CSWADI) was founded in 1950. It is one of the earliest-established, most comprehensive in disciplines, and largest state-owned Grade-A architectural design institutes in the same industry in China, affiliated with China State Construction Engineering Corporation, a Fortune Global 500 enterprise.
Over more than 60 years since its establishment, the institute has completed nearly ten thousand engineering design tasks, with projects covering all provinces, cities, and autonomous regions of China as well as more than 10 countries and regions worldwide. It is one of the large architectural design institutes in China that holds independent foreign-related operating rights and participates in the operation of numerous overseas design tasks. As the largest architectural design enterprise in central and western China, the institute has been awarded honorary titles such as "Advanced Collective of Central Enterprises," "National Excellent Enterprise in Engineering Quality Management," "China Top Ten Architectural Design Companies," and "China's Most Valuable Design Institution Brand."
At present, the institute and its wholly-owned and controlled subsidiaries have more than 3,000 employees, including more than 2,100 employees in the main design business, 65 professor-level senior architects and professor-level senior engineers, more than 450 senior architects and senior engineers, and more than 580 national first-class registered architects, first-class registered structural engineers, registered cost engineers, registered equipment engineers, and registered electrical engineers. Over the years, CSWADI has cultivated 4 national engineering survey and design masters, 1 young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions at the national level, 1 young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions from the Ministry of Construction, 5 academic and technical leaders of Sichuan Province, 4 experts with outstanding contributions of Sichuan Province, 24 personnel enjoying special government allowances, and 23 Sichuan provincial engineering design masters.
As the largest architectural design institute in central and western China and an important state-owned backbone enterprise in national capital construction, the institute takes "meticulous design, serving society" as its mission, adheres to the purpose of prospering architectural creation, continuously improves innovative design concepts, and strives to create architectural design masterpieces.
