Wasion Holdings Limited is an IoT solution provider and operations service provider in the fields of intelligent energy metering, intelligent power distribution and consumption, energy efficiency management, and smart public utilities. Its products cover electricity, water, gas, and heat metering products, electrical equipment, and system solutions. It was successfully listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2005, with four wholly-owned subsidiaries: Wasion Information Technology Co., Ltd., Wasion Group Co., Ltd., Wasion Electric Co., Ltd., and Wasion International Trade Co., Ltd. The cumulative output value has reached 50 billion yuan, cumulative tax payments have reached 4 billion yuan, and total assets at the end of 2020 were 11 billion yuan.
Wasion Group Co., Ltd. is a core subsidiary of Wasion Holdings Limited and a supplier of energy metering equipment, systems, and services, with over 1,500 employees. The Wasion Technology Park covers an area of 460 mu with a building area of 150,000 square meters, incorporating industry-leading automated production equipment and process technology, a warehouse management information system (WMS), and SAP's ERP system. It is one of China's advanced R&D and manufacturing bases for energy metering and energy efficiency management products. Wasion has long been deeply engaged in the domestic electricity metering field while vigorously expanding overseas markets. Its products have been exported to more than fifty countries and regions, and localized factories have been established in Tanzania, Brazil, Mexico, and other places to provide customers with more localized services.
On November 4, 2013, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited Wasion and encouraged Wasion to increase R&D and continue innovating. Encouraged by the General Secretary, Wasion has consistently made innovation its development engine, with a strong R&D team for energy metering and energy efficiency management technology, including over 500 technical R&D personnel and 12 members on provincial-level or higher standardization technical committees. More than 8% of operating revenue is invested in R&D and technological innovation to ensure leading-edge technology and products. In June 2012, the Wasion Research Institute was established, serving as the engine guiding Wasion's future technological direction and promoting the steady development of Wasion's business.
In 2020, Wasion invested more than 8% of its operating revenue in R&D and technological innovation to ensure leading-edge technology and products. As of the end of December 2021, Wasion Group held 545 valid patents, including 75 invention patents, 231 utility model patents, and 239 design patents; it also owned 583 software copyrights; it participated in the formulation of 50 national and industry standards, of which 38 have been published; it received one second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one outstanding award of the China Patent Award, and multiple other provincial and municipal science and technology awards. In 2016, Wasion was honored with the "2016 Intelligent Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration Project" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the national "Quality Benchmark Enterprise" title. In 2017, it won the fifth Hunan Provincial Governor's Quality Award. In May 2018, Wasion Group was awarded the "National May Day Labor Medal", in 2019 it was recognized as a "2018 National Youth Safety Production Demonstration Post" and won the bronze award in the fifth "Youth Innovation and Creativity Competition" of the State Grid Corporation of China, becoming an intelligent electricity meter manufacturer with full IDIS P2 DLM certification.
