Southern Power Grid

Southern Power Grid Science Research Institute is the central research institute (at the level of a full department) of China Southern Power Grid Company (ranked 100th in the 2017 Fortune Global 500). It has 12 professional departments and institutes, including the System Research Institute and the HVDC Transmission Technology Research Institute. It is responsible for providing comprehensive and full-process technical support and services for the planning, development, engineering construction, safety, economy, high-quality operation, and informatization of the Southern Power Grid, and carries out research and development of basic, common, and forward-looking core technologies of the power grid. As the central research institute of the Southern Power Grid, the Southern Power Grid Science Research Institute undertakes the research and implementation of major projects at the national, provincial and ministerial levels, as well as those of industry, academic organizations, and the Southern Power Grid Company system.
