Shanghai TAS (Transformation Academy of Shanghai) was established in 2015 and is a non-profit bilingual school, providing comprehensive bilingual education for Chinese families who desire a combination of Chinese and Western culture and focus on character development. Shanghai TAS is a private school offering nine-year compulsory education from primary to junior high school. We aim to renew lives through high-quality education in a loving environment, cultivating students to become servant leaders. We provide comprehensive bilingual teaching for Chinese families who want an education that integrates Chinese and Western cultures and emphasizes character growth. Shanghai TAS is located in Tang Town, Pudong New Area, Shanghai. The school covers an area of 26,790 square meters, with a five-story teaching building as the main instructional area, covering 8,396 square meters. This building includes 48 standard classrooms, computer rooms, a cozy and warm library, music rooms, meeting rooms, and other offices. Each classroom is equipped with projectors and screens, wireless network coverage, air conditioning for both heating and cooling, and comfortable desks and chairs. Each class has no more than 26 students. The school provides healthy and well-balanced lunches daily. The indoor gymnasium adjacent to the teaching building serves as a venue for indoor sports activities, and students can also use the large playground/football field and running track on campus. We strive not only to enhance students' academic abilities but also to focus on their life growth and character development, committed to cultivating future leaders with knowledge, character, and talent for China, while actively promoting the growth of Chinese family relationships and enhancing the happiness and harmony of families and communities. Curriculum: Shanghai TAS not only offers 'bilingual teaching in Chinese and English' but also has unique and outstanding advantages in various subjects. -English is taught by American foreign teachers, providing extensive and in-depth native-speaker-style expansion based on completing the syllabus. -Mathematics is co-taught by foreign and Chinese teachers, developing a joint teaching mode and school-based materials that are 'systematic' and 'innovative' in both Chinese and English. -Chinese language arts is based on using 'China's most challenging Chinese textbooks,' supplemented by reading aloud training, poetry expansion, extracurricular reading, and calligraphy practice, focusing on cultivating students' literary literacy, rational reading, analysis, and critical thinking skills. -In related subjects such as Art, Music, and PE, a diversified approach combining in-class and extracurricular activities stimulates students' exploration of interests and love for life.
