Vanke Meisha Academy (VMA) was founded in 2015. It is an international school organized by the Vanke Education Development Foundation and entrusted to Shenzhen Middle School for operation. Shenzhen Middle School is responsible for the education, teaching, and management of Vanke Meisha Academy, and engages in deep cooperation with the academy in academic courses, teaching research, faculty sharing, extracurricular activities, and other projects. Vanke Meisha Academy is a private school approved by the Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau, with the qualification to conduct high school international curriculum experiments. On the "2017 Hurun Education · Top 100 Chinese International Schools" list, Vanke Meisha Academy ranked third in Shenzhen. On May 2, 2018, it received full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). It is the only WASC fully accredited high school in Shenzhen that accepts Chinese students. The school is backed by mountains and faces the sea. The teaching building was personally designed by renowned American contemporary architect Steven Holl and received the world's highest green building certification—LEED Platinum certification, making it also the only urban complex project in China to receive this certification.
