Corporate Social Responsibility
Special Fund for Science and Technology Protection of the China Cultural Relics Protection Foundation
In order to improve the level of scientific and technological protection of cultural relics, and promote the innovative integration of cultural relic protection, activation, and utilization with modern science and technology, with the support of the China Cultural Relics Protection Foundation, Jianwei Historical Protection raised 5 million yuan to establish the "Special Fund for Science and Technology Protection of the China Cultural Relics Protection Foundation." Since its establishment, the fund has supported a series of activities in the cultural relic protection industry and proposed a special project support plan for the cultural relic protection industry.
International Expo on Architectural Heritage Protection and Restoration
With the support of relevant leaders, experts, and industry peers in the cultural relic protection industry, Jianwei Historical Protection has created the most influential "International Expo on Architectural Heritage Protection and Restoration" (abbreviated as "Construction Expo"). The Construction Expo is a public welfare platform for industry exchange, aiming to "demonstrate advanced architectural heritage protection and utilization technologies, disseminate internationally advanced protection and utilization concepts, expand the influence of architectural protection in the public, and reflect the continuation and development of the relationship between people and architecture." The first Construction Expo was held in Shanghai in August 2015, and was evaluated by CCTV as "currently the largest and most influential exhibition in the field of cultural heritage protection in China." In August 2017 and October 2019, the second and third Construction Expos were successfully held in Shanghai, achieving good social effects.
Talent Development
Jianwei Historical Protection attaches great importance to team building and talent cultivation. It has jointly launched the "Historical Building Protection Engineering" major with Hunan Institute of Science and Technology, and cooperated with Shanghai Jianqiao College to establish a "Jianwei Class," cultivating talents in survey, design, construction, supervision, and informatization for the cultural relic protection industry, filling the gap in industry talent cultivation.
In terms of expert team building, the company established the "Cultural Heritage Protection Expert Committee" in 2016, working with prestigious and academically profound experts in the field of cultural relic protection across society to jointly promote the professional protection level of cultural heritage, further enhance Jianwei Historical Protection's professional capabilities in the field of cultural relic protection, and expand the public influence of cultural relic protection.
Corporate Scientific Research and Development
Jianwei Historical Protection has obtained over 150 authorized patents and 5 high-tech achievement transformations.
Scientific Research Base
In June 2016, Jianwei Historical Protection jointly established a joint laboratory with the School of Archaeology and Museology of Peking University. Driven by Peking University's strong scientific research achievements and intellectual support, and relying on Jianwei Historical Protection's project integration experience in intelligent monitoring, informatization, and digitization of cultural heritage, and its self-developed "Cultural Relics Cloud" platform, the two parties cooperate closely to build a win-win, sustainable strategic partnership, jointly promoting the protection and utilization of cultural heritage, advancing the informatization, digitization, technological, and industrialization level of related work in the cultural heritage field, and actively promoting China's excellent traditional culture.
In June 2017, the "Hunan Provincial Key Scientific Research Base for Protection and Utilization of Historic Buildings," jointly applied for by Jianwei Historical Protection and Hunan Institute of Science and Technology, was approved and licensed by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and the Hunan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau. In the future, the scientific research base will focus on eight key aspects: research on reinforcement and restoration technology of historic buildings, research on environmental monitoring technology for historic buildings, research on core disease monitoring technology for historic buildings, research on installation methods of sensing devices, research on data analysis and early warning mechanisms, establishment of risk assessment models for historic buildings, establishment of a "Cultural Heritage IoT Monitoring and Management Cloud Platform" for the southern region, and promotion of activation projects of historic buildings.
In April 2018, Jianwei Historical Protection jointly established the "Collaborative Innovation Center for Preventive Protection Technology of Cultural Heritage" with the World Heritage International Research Center of Southwest Jiaotong University, aiming to leverage the advantages of both universities and enterprises to promote innovative research and practice in China's preventive protection technology for cultural heritage.
"Cultural Relics Cloud" Platform
In cultural relic protection work, Jianwei Historical Protection actively shifts its approach, changing the focus from passive rescue protection to active preventive protection. In the process of cultural relic protection, Jianwei Historical Protection always emphasizes strengthening the daily maintenance of cultural relics, improving the preservation environment of cultural relics, real-time monitoring of the preservation status of cultural relics, timely and comprehensive risk assessment of cultural relics, and taking measures to reduce or eliminate potential safety hazards of cultural relics.
The company actively promotes the concept of "smart cultural relics," advocating: 1) fully utilizing technologies such as the Internet, the Internet of Things, big data, and artificial intelligence to improve the level of intelligent construction of national cultural relics, promote the interconnection of cultural relics, and promote the dissemination of Chinese civilization and value discovery; 2) striving to eliminate the information island phenomenon in the process of preventive protection of cultural relics, achieving data sharing and big data analysis; 3) actively exploring, conducting in-depth research, and improving the analysis and mining capabilities of massive data generated in the process of preventive protection of cultural relics, providing scientific basis and decision support for improving the level of cultural relic protection; and 4) promoting the establishment of a "Risk Monitoring and Assessment System for Immovable Cultural Relics," and promoting the practical application of risk management theories in the cultural relic protection industry.
Through years of painstaking research and practice, Jianwei Historical Protection took the lead in creating a big data platform for scientific and technological protection and risk assessment of cultural relics - the Cultural Heritage IoT Monitoring and Management Cloud Platform (hereinafter referred to as the "Cultural Relics Cloud" platform). The "Cultural Relics Cloud" utilizes mature mainstream technologies such as the Internet, mobile Internet, the Internet of Things, wireless communication, GIS, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, combined with knowledge from archaeology, historic building science, cultural relic protection science, building structure science, materials science, image recognition, and environmental science, to conduct multi-angle, all-round data collection, monitoring, management, and risk assessment of cultural heritage. The "Cultural Relics Cloud" includes four major systems: monitoring and assessment, cultural relic archives, work management, and cultural relic activation. It has won the "2016 Shanghai IoT Application Demonstration Project Award," the "Third, Fourth, and Fifth National Top Ten Cultural and Museum Technology Products and Services Awards," the "2016 Pudong New Area Science and Technology Progress Award," and the "First Prize of the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film, and Television Science and Technology Progress."
Cultural Relic Protection Equipment
In the cultural and museum industry, since museums, ancient buildings, and ancient villages are mostly brick-wood structures, they are highly susceptible to termite infestation. Termite damage to wooden structures of ancient buildings and wooden cultural relics is common, causing huge losses. Against this background, through cross-industry cooperation, Jianwei Historical Protection successfully developed the "low-power remote real-time intelligent termite monitoring device."
To meet the specific technical requirements for preventive protection of cultural relics, Jianwei Historical Protection, together with industry experts, has successfully developed a series of high-tech products with leading technology, strong pertinence, and wide applicability, including the "Cultural Relics Cloud Box" multi-channel data acquisition device, high-precision tilt sensor, high-sensitivity vibration sensor, automatic timed image capture device, and high-precision building deformation real-time monitoring device based on photogrammetry technology.
