Visionali Medical was founded on May 18, 2018, focusing on precision medicine for infectious diseases. With metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) and CRISPR-Cas12/13 molecular POCT as core technologies, it conducts innovation in infectious pathogen diagnosis and product development. Through third-party medical testing services (ICL) and in vitro diagnostic instruments and reagents (IVD) business models, it serves major clinical customers in domestic tertiary hospitals, including laboratory, respiratory, critical care, pediatric, neurological, and infectious disease departments.
Since its establishment, it has launched innovative products in the mNGS 2.0 era, such as IDseq Ultra, based on million-probe capture; obtained full-qualification IVD registration for metagenomic pathogen detection, covering the Visionseq 1000 sequencer, metagenomic detection reagents, and dedicated pathogen analysis software; established six national testing centers, accumulating over 200,000 large-sample data; in early 2021, Visionali achieved a perfect score in the national lower respiratory tract mNGS external quality assessment by the National Center for Clinical Laboratories, being the only participating enterprise to score full marks. In early 2022, Visionali Medical Laboratory obtained the first CAP certification in the domestic mNGS field.
Visionali has now provided services to over 1,500 clinical institutions, establishing in-depth cooperation and testing platforms with hospitals such as Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese PLA General Hospital, Shanghai Huashan Hospital, Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Wuhan Tongji Hospital, and Shanghai Children's Medical Center. It has also established strategic cooperative relationships with the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the National Center for Infectious Diseases, and the National Center for Clinical Laboratories. In 2021, Visionali established a public health business department, launching a series of pathogen detection equipment and applications, expanding its core business from clinical healthcare to public health affairs, resulting in a more complete product and industry layout.
Currently, Visionali has published over 70 high-impact SCI papers and applied for more than 50 invention patents and over 50 software copyrights. In 2021, the company completed Series C and D financing, gaining recognition and support from leading investment institutions such as Tencent, CDH Investments, CICC, and Boyu Capital. As a high-tech enterprise, Visionali has been rated as a Guangzhou Specialized and Innovative Enterprise, a China Potential Unicorn Enterprise, and one of the Top 50 New Economy Pioneer Enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and has been listed on the China Future Medical 100 for four consecutive times.
It is particularly noteworthy that during major epidemics such as COVID-19 and plague in 2019, Visionali, with its innovative products and services, participated in the earliest detection of pathogens and genome sequencing, fulfilled public health responsibilities, fulfilled its corporate mission, and wrote a significant chapter in its history.
