Wuhan Comprehensive Transportation Research Institute Co., Ltd., formerly known as "Wuhan Highway Survey and Design Institute", was originally affiliated with Wuhan Transportation Commission. At the end of 2016, it was transferred to Wuhan Xin'gang Construction Investment Development Group Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wuhan Port and Shipping Development Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Port Development Group"). In April 2018, it completed its corporate system reform and was officially renamed "Wuhan Comprehensive Transportation Research Institute Co., Ltd.", and in May became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Port Development Group. Wuhan Comprehensive Transportation Research Institute Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive high-tech enterprise integrating production, scientific research, technical services, and consulting. It is mainly engaged in the planning, feasibility study, survey, design, technical consulting, logistics industry research and management consulting, port and waterway engineering design and consulting of highways, municipal roads, bridges, and tunnels. It currently holds Grade A professional qualifications in the highway industry (highways, extra-large bridges, extra-long tunnels, traffic engineering); Grade A professional qualifications in the municipal industry (road engineering), Grade A in engineering survey professional category (geotechnical engineering, engineering surveying), and Grade B professional qualifications in the municipal industry (water supply engineering, drainage engineering, bridge engineering). It passed ISO9001 quality system certification in 2004 and passed the three-standard system certification of quality, environment, and occupational health and safety management in 2020. In 2016, it was rated as a high-tech enterprise in Hubei Province.
