Guangzhou Zengcheng Phoenix City Bilingual School

Guangzhou Zengcheng Phoenix City Bilingual School (PHOENIX CITY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL) was established in September 2003, covering an area of 143 mu with a building area of 80,000 square meters. It is fully equipped with modern teaching facilities, exceeding the standards of provincial first-class schools. Currently, it has 4,410 primary and secondary school students.

The school is located in Yongning Street, Zengcheng City, an eastern economic development zone of Guangzhou, and is situated in "Country Garden Phoenix City, a super-large mature five-villa living community in South China". The community is highly convenient for daily life, with large supermarkets such as Aeon JUSCO, McDonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut, and Starbucks. Outside the community, transportation is very convenient, with direct access to Guangyuan Expressway (Xinxin Station), Guangshen Expressway (Xintang Station), and Guanghui Expressway (Yonghe Station). It is a 20-minute drive to Guangzhou Central Business District and Guangzhou East Railway Station, and a 50-minute drive to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

In 2010, the "National Medium- and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan Outline (2010-2020)" was issued, encouraging qualified private schools to carry out various forms of international exchange and cooperation. In the same year, after seven years of operation, to meet the growing demand of parents for international education, Phoenix City established the International Primary Department. Leveraging the brand strength of Country Garden's IB education and its own solid educational achievements, it implemented the PYP and was about to embark on the MYP. Currently, there are 37 classes from grade 1 to grade 9, with 990 students, 124 Chinese teachers, and 33 foreign teachers. In July 2016, it was officially authorized as an IB PYP school, and in March 2017, it became an IB MYP candidate school. Principal Shen Jianjun was also invited by the IB organization to serve as a site visitor for the Diploma Programme (DP) examinations, and, along with six other IB practitioners worldwide, attended a professional forum on the continuity of the four IB programmes at the IB Curriculum Centre in The Hague, Netherlands.

Since the implementation of the programme, the school has always adhered to the principle that "everyone progresses at their own pace", adopted small-class teaching to ensure 100% classroom participation, focused on POI as the core, emphasized English as a characteristic, inherited excellent Chinese culture, and carved out a distinctive path of international education.
