Beijing Jiuhe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'the Company') was formerly a shareholding pharmaceutical enterprise restructured from a pharmaceutical factory affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (Peking Union Medical College). At the end of July 2015, the Company officially became one of the holding subsidiaries of the Hong Kong-listed entity 'Yuanda Pharmaceutical (China) Co., Ltd.' (hereinafter referred to as 'Yuanda Pharmaceutical'), forming an important product line extension within its pharmaceutical industry group development strategy. In 2012, the Company was recognized as a High-tech Enterprise by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission; in 2013, it successfully passed the new GMP certification and obtained the certificate.
The Company's proprietary product 'Eucalyptol, Limonene and Pinene Enteric Soft Capsules' (trade name: Qienuo) is a nationally exclusive product independently developed, originally classified as a Class III new drug and has obtained the new drug certificate. Eucalyptol, Limonene and Pinene Enteric Soft Capsules are the first mucolytic and expectorant agent produced domestically, and their launch successfully broke the monopoly of foreign products in the domestic mucolytic and expectorant market for over a decade. It has been included in the 'Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Rhinosinusitis' (2012, Kunming) as a recommended medication by the Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and has been recorded in the 'Clinical Pathway Therapeutic Drug Interpretation - Respiratory Medicine Volume'. Since the first quarter of 2014, this product has ranked first among oral preparations in the respiratory and ENT field nationwide.
The Company also owns the microbial fermentation product Tremella Polysaccharide Enteric Capsules (formerly named Fengling Capsules, trade name: Qie'er), which is a bidirectional immunomodulator suitable for leukopenia caused by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and other reasons, enhancing the immune function of cancer patients, and also for adjuvant treatment of chronic persistent hepatitis and chronic active hepatitis. In 1990, Tremella Polysaccharide Enteric Capsules were designated by the Ministry of Health as an aid drug for the Chernobyl nuclear leakage incident in the former Soviet Union, and won praise from foreign parties for their efficacy.
The Company currently has 7 production lines for soft capsules, hard capsules, sprays, powder aerosols, tablets, granules, and APIs, of which three have passed GMP certification, and the other four are used for new product development. The Company has complete auxiliary production facilities, including comprehensive warehouses, air conditioning power rooms, air compressor rooms, and purified water preparation rooms. The quality inspection center is equipped with a full set of quality inspection instruments, enabling complete self-inspection of all products; quality management includes a quality management department independent of production management, which independently exercises the right to release products. The Company strives to transition quality management from 'quality derived from testing' to 'quality derived from production', and ultimately continuously towards 'quality derived from design'.
