Yangtze Ecology and Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd. was established against the historical backdrop of thoroughly studying and implementing ***'s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and ***'s Thought on Ecological Civilization. It is the core entity company of China Three Gorges Corporation for carrying out the Yangtze River protection work, and was registered and established on December 13, 2018 in Wuhan, Hubei Province.
Under the joint efforts of the National Development and Reform Commission (Yangtze River Office), relevant central administrative departments, and local governments, preliminary progress has been made in jointly exploring and establishing the management system for Yangtze River protection work. That is, "central coordination, provincial-level overall responsibility, and city and county-level implementation." Under the overall coordination of the National Development and Reform Commission, through on-site guidance and supervision and inspection, support policies are accelerated and introduced, provincial governments are urged to assume the main responsibility, and city and county governments along the Yangtze River carry out implementation. In this mechanism, Yangtze Ecology and Environmental Protection Group resolutely implements the arrangements and deployments of the National Development and Reform Commission (Yangtze River Office) and other relevant ministries and commissions, and communicates closely and works together with local governments.
