[Summary] Major scientific infrastructure for nanotechnology
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area National Institute of Nanotechnology Innovation is a new type of public institution jointly established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the People's Government of Guangdong Province. The institute operates on a market-oriented basis, with personnel recruited through open recruitment both domestically and internationally.
Through joint construction by the institute and the province, the institute integrates domestic and international resources to jointly build major scientific infrastructure for nanotechnology, break through key core technologies, promote the transformation of major scientific research achievements, gather and cultivate high-level talents, and build a complete innovation chain from applied basic research, core technology, achievement transformation, industrialization, to technology finance, forming a technology highland and industrial innovation center leading the development of international nanotechnology.
The institute plans to invest approximately 20 billion yuan over 10 years through the joint efforts of Guangdong Province, Guangzhou City, and Guangzhou Development District, with an initial investment of about 10 billion yuan in the first three years. The institute's headquarters is located in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, covering an area of about 300 mu. Based on this, together with the Guangzhou Development District government, it will jointly create a nanotechnology industrial cluster area of about 1.1 square kilometers in the China-Singapore Knowledge City, called the "China Nano Valley". The institute includes five major sections:
