广东工商职业技术大学创办于1996年，2018年经教育部批准成为全国首批职业本科院校，2019年更名为广东工商职业技术大学。2022年经广东省学位委员会批准为学士学位授予单位，2023年经广东省教育厅批准开始招收留学生。广东工商职业技术大学位于粤港澳大湾区腹地、国家历史文化名城——肇庆市，现有星湖和大旺两个校区，星湖校区毗邻肇庆七星岩国家5A级风景名胜区，大旺校区位于肇庆*高新技术产业开发区。学校校园占地面积2212.93亩，校园建筑中西合璧、优美典雅、错落有致、气势恢宏，被誉为中国*美民办大学之一。学校现有全日制在校生2.2万余人，教职工1300余人。现设18个教学单位，开设职业本科专业30个。建有*科技企业孵化器、省级大学科技园、省级工程研究中心、省级决策咨询基地、省级博士工作站等一批人才培养和科技创新平台。
