Yongshan Lithium is located by the beautiful Xiangjiang River, in the hometown of Lei Feng, the City of Hope — Tongguan Industrial Park, Wangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone, Changsha City, Hunan Province. The project is built in two phases, covering a total area of 362 mu. Phase I was put into operation in the first half of 2022, with an annual production capacity of 25,000 tons after reaching full capacity, supplying core cathode material or battery material customers in Hunan and across the country. After Phase II is completed and put into operation, the annual production capacity will reach 45,000 tons.
Yongshan Lithium is Hunan's first lithium salt project, filling the gap in the raw material end of Hunan's advanced energy storage materials industry, promoting the formation of a full industry chain closed loop in Hunan from lithium salt to precursors to cathode and anode materials to batteries, and effectively enhancing the competitiveness of Hunan's advanced energy storage materials industry.
The project demonstrates industry-leading technological advancement in five aspects: quality assurance system, flexible production, environmental protection, energy conservation, and automation, building a new generation of green, intelligent, and circular lithium salt factory.
During the design and construction of the project, FMEA was implemented, and ISO9000 and IATF16949 standards were applied. It is one of the few enterprises in the lithium salt industry that carries out and implements quality control measures during the project design and construction stages, with design, construction, and manufacturing standards higher than those of similar traditional enterprises.
The metallurgical section furnace capacity of Phase I equipment is 20,000 tons LCE/year. Through its proprietary flexible production single lithium salt unit, it can freely adjust the output of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide according to market changes and customer orders, maximizing returns.
The project adopts a fourth-generation mineral-process lithium salt manufacturing unit with independent design and independent intellectual property rights, producing 100% battery-grade and high-purity products, achieving 100% recycling of solid waste and waste liquid, and ultra-low emissions of exhaust gas. It is the first to propose an EMS comprehensive energy management solution, achieving the recycling of high-temperature and medium-temperature hot gas and hot water throughout the system. The entire plant applies a fully intelligent lighting system and fully intelligent manufacturing production lines. The designed energy consumption per ton is 37% lower than the industry standard, and the number of workers is reduced by 2/3 compared with the industry standard, creating a new benchmark of "green," "intelligent," and "circular" in the industry.
