Basic Introduction Chongqing Polytechnic Institute is a full-time private general higher vocational college approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education of China. The school is located in the main urban area of Chongqing — Banan District. The campus is planned to cover an area of 1,007 mu, and more than 200,000 square meters of construction have been completed. Modern teaching buildings, laboratory buildings, a library, an international academic exchange center, and other venues have been built, along with infrastructure such as a standard sports field, activity center, outdoor swimming pool, and elevator apartments. The school enjoys convenient transportation and is surrounded by mountains, with the Huaxi River winding through the campus of red buildings and green trees.
With "Excellence and Perfection" as its motto, the school adheres to "experts governing academic affairs and renowned teachers teaching," gathering outstanding talents from home and abroad to build a dedicated, loyal, diligent, knowledgeable, and capable dual-qualified teacher team and a lean and efficient management team. In accordance with the industrial development layout of the state and Chongqing, the school plans to build five major professional groups, including health and wellness, big data and information technology. It currently offers 11 majors (17 major directions), including Big Data Technology, Artificial Intelligence Technology Application, New Energy Vehicles, Urban Rail Transit Operation and Management, Infant and Toddler Development and Health Management, Intelligent Logistics Technology, Cross-border E-commerce, and Environmental Art Design. It has built more than 50 experimental and training rooms, including a big data training center, smart e-commerce training room, industrial robot training center, JD Smart Mall, community rehabilitation center, biochemistry laboratory, railway locomotive training yard, and aviation simulation cabin. The school has established school-enterprise cooperation relationships with more than 30 domestic and international units, including Sugon, Foxconn, Guangdong Zhuorui Company, Chongqing Fubailian Industrial Co., Ltd., China Aviation Railway Holdings Co., Ltd., and Chongqing Semiconductor Research Institute, and has established an international cooperation relationship with the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in Canada, building a good platform for student internships, employment, and overseas further study.
Closely focusing on the national "Belt and Road" and "Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle" construction, the school proactively adapts to the needs of Chongqing's regional economic and social development and industrial structure upgrading, adheres to student-centered, teacher-oriented, and market-led principles, proactively adapts to the strategic development needs of smart cities, faces modern manufacturing, services, and agriculture and animal husbandry, follows the "1-2-4" construction approach, strongly promotes industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, comprehensively implements the four major strategic projects of "major construction, team building, international cooperation, and innovative education," and strives to build the school into a vocational university with distinctive regional characteristics that is "high in quality, large in scale, beautiful in campus, and strong in competitiveness."
