Chongqing Design Institute Co., Ltd. originated in the 1920s, was formally established in 1950, and in 2002, "Chongqing Design Institute" was transformed from a public institution into a key municipal science and technology enterprise. In 2020, it was renamed "Chongqing Design Institute Co., Ltd." and is now a subsidiary of Chongqing Design Group.
