Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital is a large top-tier Grade 3A Traditional Chinese Medicine hospital in Chongqing, integrating four central functions of medical care, teaching, scientific research and public welfare. It is a non-directly affiliated hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, an affiliated Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and the Fourth Clinical Medical College of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and one of the first key Traditional Chinese Medicine hospital construction units of the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance and Innovation Project. The hospital ranked 13th on Hong Kong Ailibi's '2018 China Hospital Competitiveness - Top 100 Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospitals' list, placing it among the top in western China.
The hospital currently has the Nanqiaosi campus in Jiangbei District and the Daomenkou campus in Yuzhong District, covering an area of 173 mu with a building area of nearly 200,000 square meters. It has 2,500 authorized beds and 3,000 open beds, 35 clinical departments and 15 medical technology departments. In 2019, it had 2.46 million outpatient visits and 80,800 annual discharged patients. It has 5 national key clinical specialties, 11 key construction disciplines and key specialties of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and 5 key research laboratories of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chongqing key laboratories, secondary laboratories, and diagnostic appraisal institutions of the Ministry of Health, among others. It is the Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Characteristic Diagnosis and Treatment Engineering Technology Center, Chongqing Academician Expert Workstation, postdoctoral research workstation, Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Postdoctoral Workstation, and Chongqing Dermatology Clinical Medical Research Center.
The hospital currently has more than 3,900 employees, including 3 National Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine and National Famous Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctors, 11 inheritance studios of national famous veteran Traditional Chinese Medicine experts, 7 experts receiving special government allowances from the State Council, 3 Chongqing Chief Medical Experts, 1 Chongqing Chief Medical Expert Studio, 30 Chongqing Famous Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctors, 3 Chongqing Yingcai·Innovation leading talents, 8 Chongqing high-end reserve talents, more than 400 senior professional title experts, and more than 50 master's and doctoral supervisors.
The hospital has successively won more than 100 honors, including the National May 1st Labor Certificate, the National Advanced Grassroots Party Organization for Excellence in Creating and Striving, the National Civilized Unit, and the National Advanced Unit for Spiritual Civilization Construction. On December 6, 2010, Xi Jinping, then member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and Vice President of the People's Republic of China, inspected the hospital. On February 3, 2018, then Vice Premier Liu Yandong inspected the hospital and encouraged it to continue its efforts and do better work.
