青岛中德智能技术研究院（中德智研院）系由中德生态园管委举办，由中共青岛市委编办批复、青岛市事业单位管理监督管理局核准登记成立的事业单位。中德智研院下设中德智研院（青岛）科技发展有限公司，并在德国多特蒙德建有离岸研发中心。中德智研院旨在学习德国弗劳恩霍夫研究院应用研究模式，打造前沿技术研究与工学博士生培养相结合、与产业需求相结合的公益性、非盈利性国际合作共享平台，为企业和社会输送顶端技术和高端人才。
