Hisense Broadband Multimedia Technology Co., Ltd. was established in April 2003. It is a company under Hisense Group specializing in the research and development, production, sales, and service of high-performance optical communication transceiver modules, data communication products, set-top box products, and network products.
In optical communications, our GPON and EPON series optical transceiver modules applied to FTTX have always been at the leading level. The world's first 10G PON high-speed burst-mode optical transceiver module has applied for multiple invention patents. In 2012, the company acquired the American optical chip company (Archcom) and established a North American R&D center, completing the vertical layout of optical components. Currently, the company has become a mainstream supplier to well-known domestic and international enterprises such as ALCATEL, MOTOROLA, Huawei, ZTE, H3C, and FiberHome.
The company has developed a variety of special optical-electronic modules, which have been widely used in special application fields such as aviation in China. Our company, together with AVIC Optronics under China Aerospace Industry Group, co-founded Zhonghang Hisense Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., which focuses on fields such as communications, aviation, aerospace, vehicle-mounted, and shipborne applications, and is committed to becoming a specialized enterprise for special optical-electronic modules with the strongest scientific research and production capabilities in China.
Regarding digital TV set-top box products, we are dedicated to the research, development, and sales of digital multimedia products, launching a series of products: Hisense HD set-top boxes, Hisense two-way interactive set-top boxes, Hisense direct-broadcast satellite set-top boxes, and integrated TV sets. These products are compatible with mainstream domestic and international CA and data broadcast formats, support various mainstream audio and video coding standards, and are favored by global customers.
In terms of network products, we took the lead in launching full-series network multimedia products: IPTV2.0, IPTV3.0, SMART IPTV, and other product series. We also pioneered in China's OTT market, launching Hisense smart set-top boxes that support a variety of network value-added services. The products developed by the company will undoubtedly lead the popularization trend of the digital home industry.
R&D layout: For the optoelectronics business segment, the company has an optical chip R&D base in Silicon Valley, USA; an R&D base for optical modules, optical components, optical interconnections, and data communications at the headquarters in Qingdao; and an optical module R&D base in Wuhan Optics Valley. For the multimedia business segment, the Qingdao headquarters has R&D bases for HD, SD, digital, satellite set-top boxes, and network products. In the STB R&D field, while maintaining strong competitiveness in domestic set-top box R&D, we are gradually building an export set-top box R&D team targeting the international market.
Production layout: The company has built world-class optoelectronic product production bases in Qingdao and Jiangmen, Guangdong. The company's optical communication industry has a complete full-industry-chain design and manufacturing capability from chip generation, TO packaging, optical component assembly, circuit surface mounting, optical-electronic modules, to optical-electronic home terminal systems.
