Beijing Wangzhihe (Guilin Fermented Bean Curd) Food Co., Ltd., formerly known as Guangxi Guilin Fermented Bean Curd Factory, was transformed into a state-owned enterprise through public-private partnership in October 1958, and in 2006, it was restructured into a state-controlled enterprise through cooperation with Beijing Wangzhihe Food Group Company. The company primarily produces four major product series: Huaqiao brand fermented bean curd, Xiangshan brand dried bean curd sticks, Guisao brand chili sauce, and Huaqiao Yugu cooking wine. Located in Lushan Industrial Zone, Xicheng Economic Development Zone, Guilin City, the company covers a factory area of 20,000 square meters, with an annual production capacity of 310 million pieces of fermented bean curd, 500 tons of dried bean curd sticks, 200 tons of chili sauce, and 650 tons of cooking wine. It is the largest producer of fermented bean curd and dried bean curd sticks in Guangxi, the first cooking wine producer in Guangxi, one of the top ten brands of fermented bean curd in China's condiment industry, and a vice-chairman unit of Guangxi Food Industry Association. Guilin fermented bean curd has enjoyed a high reputation for over 300 years, gaining fame during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. The Qing Dynasty poet and gastronome Yuan Mei recorded in his work "Suiyuan Shidan" in the section on fermented bean curd: "The best white fermented bean curd is from Guangxi," referring to Guilin fermented bean curd. In the early 20th century, several workshops in Guilin produced fermented bean curd, among which the "Tianyizhan" shop was the most famous. After liberation, under the public-private partnership policy, "Tianyizhan" joined the "Guiyi" fermented bean curd production group formed by seven workshops including "Zhangshengji." In 1956, it merged with five production groups including Tangshunji to establish Guilin Liujian Fermented Bean Curd Production Cooperative. In 1958, along with all fermented bean curd workshops in Guilin, it was incorporated into the state-owned Guilin Fermented Bean Curd Factory, which inherited and developed the Huaqiao brand fermented bean curd. In February 1964, the factory applied to the State Administration for Industry and Commerce for trademark registration of Huaqiao fermented bean curd, and in 1979, "Huaqiao" was approved as the first registered trademark in the history of Guilin fermented bean curd. Therefore, the industry recognizes Huaqiao fermented bean curd as the most authentic representative brand of Guilin fermented bean curd. Huaqiao fermented bean curd has won the National Quality Product Silver Award, Guangxi Famous Brand, and Guangxi Well-Known Trademark multiple times. In 1992, Huaqiao fermented bean curd was designated by the Guilin Municipal People's Government as one of the "Three Treasures of Guilin." In 2002, "Huaqiao" Guilin fermented bean curd was recognized as a geographical indication protected product by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, reaffirming its status as the authentic representative of Guilin fermented bean curd, recognized by both national and local governments, and deeply loved by consumers. Xiangshan dried bean curd sticks are a famous local specialty of Guilin, winning the National Quality Food Silver Award consecutively in 1981 and 1985. Since the 1990s, they have repeatedly won the titles of Guangxi Famous Product and Guangxi Well-Known Trademark. In 2010, "Xiangshan" Guilin dried bean curd sticks were recognized as a geographical indication protected product by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. Enterprises that have obtained two geographical indication certifications are rare nationwide.
