Wuhan Huake Reproductive Specialized Hospital

Wuhan Huake Reproductive Specialized Hospital (formerly Reproductive Medicine Center of Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology / Wuhan Tongji Reproductive Medicine Specialized Hospital) originated in September 1988 from the Reproductive Medicine Center of Tongji Medical University (the first reproductive medicine center in China) approved by the former Ministry of Health. It is a non-profit medical and health public institution integrating clinical practice, teaching, scientific research and training. The hospital holds practice license qualifications approved by the Hubei Provincial Health Commission for human assisted reproductive technology, Hubei Provincial Human Sperm Bank, and Hubei Provincial Fertility Preservation Center. It is a national drug clinical trial institution and a designated medical institution for Wuhan urban basic medical insurance.
The hospital focuses on assisted reproductive technology and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment as its specialties. It has established 10 clinical and medical technical departments: Assisted Reproductive Center, Urology (Reproductive Andrology), Infertility Clinic, Gynecology, Traditional Chinese Medicine Gynecology, Anesthesiology, Operating Room, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory, and Medical Imaging. It currently has more than 120 professional and technical personnel, including 5 professors, 19 associate professors (including associate chief physicians/pharmacists), 9 doctoral degree holders, 19 master's degree holders, 5 doctoral supervisors, and 10 master's supervisors.
In recent years, the hospital has achieved multiple major breakthroughs and outstanding results in frontier disciplines such as reproductive medicine and stem cells. It now offers a number of assisted reproductive technologies, including artificial insemination (AIH/AID), in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), in vitro activation of primordial follicles (IVA), and testicular or epididymal sperm extraction (microsurgical sperm extraction) and other advanced technologies. It took the lead domestically and internationally in developing non-invasive diagnostic technology using seminal plasma cell-free nucleic acids to identify types of azoospermia, and took the lead within the province in carrying out high-resolution chromosome karyotype analysis, blocking antibody immunotherapy, microsurgical testicular sperm extraction, and intrauterine infusion and other frontier diagnostic and treatment technologies.
