Shenzhen Academy of Metrology and Quality Inspection (SMQ), established in 1985, has become the most comprehensive testing institution in South China with the widest testing scope and the strongest comprehensive strength after 25 years of development. It has 3 experimental bases, a laboratory area of 65,000 square meters, over 1,000 employees, more than 7,000 sets of equipment in use, and total assets exceeding 360 million yuan. It has established 11 professional departments and 4 testing centers, covering testing fields such as electronic products, food, materials, textile and clothing, hardware and building materials, petrochemicals, toys, light industrial machinery, wood furniture, as well as ten major metrology specialties including length, mechanics, thermology, electromagnetics, radio, time and frequency, physical chemistry, optics, flow, and ionizing radiation.

SMQ always places government needs and people's interests in an important position: food safety, livelihood metrology, product quality supervision, etc. For work involving people's interests, SMQ, with a highly responsible attitude and solid technical strength, successfully completes various testing tasks assigned by the government and has been highly praised by national, provincial, and municipal quality supervision bureaus multiple times. The Party Secretary of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine personally wrote an inscription when visiting Shenzhen Testing Institute, requiring it to be one level higher, one step ahead, establish a brand, and strive for first-class performance. To meet the needs of enterprise independent innovation, product quality improvement, and breaking technical barriers, SMQ has established four technical service platforms: testing, certification, training, and consulting, providing enterprises with testing technical services throughout the entire product lifecycle from R&D, procurement, production, market access, to disposal. In testing, SMQ keeps pace with China's industrial development, continuously innovating, and has successively established a batch of advanced and internationally leading testing platforms such as electromagnetic compatibility, performance, safety, environmental testing for electronic products, physicochemical analysis laboratories, as well as three-coordinate precision space and acoustic vibration testing; and in response to the development needs of the high-tech electronics industry, it has built Shenzhen's first and the country's only National Digital Electronic Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center. By providing product testing and instrument verification/calibration services, it offers technical support for enterprise independent innovation and product quality improvement; in certification and consulting, SMQ has established a strict quality management system, accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and continuously strengthens international cooperation, having established mutual recognition qualifications with over 20 international authoritative institutions from 18 countries and regions, including the U.S. FCC, European CE, Canadian IC, German TÜV Rheinland, TÜV PS, Japanese VCCI, Polish Certification Office, Singapore PSB, and Korean KETI, gradually building a certification system of one standard, one test, global acceptance, providing Chinese enterprises with a one-stop technical solution for entering the global market.
