山东省中医药研究院于 2003 年 1 月 18 日由原山东省中医药研究所和山东省针灸科学研究所合并组建而成，地处济南市东部燕子山西路 7 号，是省卫生健康委所属公益一类事业单位。研究院主要开展中医、针灸、中药的基础研究、中药新药开发研究、中医临床应用研究等工作。其占地面积达 40 多亩，下设附属医院、针灸医院两个临床基地，还设有中药化学、中药炮制等多个科室，具备完善的科研与临床体系，为推动山东省中医药事业发展，提升中医药科研水平和临床疗效发挥关键作用。
