Guangzhou Xinhai Hospital

The Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University (Guangzhou Xinhai Hospital) is located on the picturesque banks of the Pearl River. Founded in 1981, it is a comprehensive national second-class A-level public hospital integrating medical care, teaching, scientific research, rehabilitation, prevention, and healthcare. It is currently a *** Baby-Friendly Hospital, a network hospital of the Ministry of Health's International Emergency Rescue Center, a clinical teaching and internship base for higher medical colleges in Guangdong Province, a designated medical institution for public-funded medical care in Guangdong Province, a designated treatment hospital of the Guangzhou 120 Emergency Center, a designated medical institution for Guangzhou social medical insurance, and a designated medical institution for work-related injuries at the provincial (municipal) level. It is also the training center for seafarer medical care in South China, a training base for specialist physicians in Guangdong Province, a national model hospital trusted by the people, and the host unit of the Nanhai Branch of the Chinese Medical Association.

The hospital has nearly 500 open beds and more than 560 staff members. It has 28 clinical and medical technology departments, with an annual outpatient volume of 480,000 visits, nearly 10,000 inpatient visits per year, and approximately 4,000 surgical procedures annually. The Gastroenterology Department is one of the clinical treatment bases of the National Liver Disease Collaboration Group and the Gastrointestinal Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Collaboration Group, with endoscopic diagnosis and treatment technology reaching an advanced level in the province. The Hemodialysis Department has 20 hemodialysis machines, with an annual hemodialysis volume of nearly 8,000 sessions. The Neurology Department, featuring neurological rehabilitation as a specialty, is one of the hospital's key departments, with two wards. The Urology, General Surgery, and Gynecology departments all offer minimally invasive treatment techniques with a comprehensive range of surgical types and projects. The hospital is well-equipped with large-scale devices, including a high-speed spiral CT scanner from GE, a Philips digital subtraction angiography unit, a Hitachi 800mA remote-controlled X-ray machine, a GE digital X-ray machine, a Hewlett-Packard color Doppler diagnostic system, a Hitachi fully automatic biochemical analyzer, a Roche fully automatic chemiluminescence immunoassay system, and a Carl Zeiss surgical microscope, among many other advanced instruments, providing strong support for the steady improvement of the hospital's medical, teaching, and research capabilities.
