The predecessor of Freudenberg Apollo, Foshan Apollo, was established in July 2000 by Apollo Trading Company of Japan. Based on its overall strength, management level, and leading R&D technology, as well as its products, services, and solutions, it became a key priority supported by the state and society. In 2004, with strong support from government departments, Shunde Apollo became the first enterprise to enter the high-tech park in Shunde District, covering an area of 17,000 square meters with a building area of 37,000 square meters.
Shunde Apollo passed the recognition as a "Guangdong Province High-tech Enterprise" in November 2006 and as a "National High-tech Enterprise" in December 2008. In 2017, the company's sales reached RMB 750 million (approximately EUR 96 million). Beginning in April 2019, the joint venture jointly established by Freudenberg Filtration Technologies Group and Apollo Group on the basis of the original Foshan Shunde Apollo Environmental Protection Equipment Co., Ltd. officially commenced operations, adopting the new English name "Freudenberg Apollo Filtration Technologies Co., Ltd.". In May 2021, Freudenberg Apollo inaugurated its new Shunde factory in Wusha Industrial Park, covering an area of 55,000 square meters with a building area of 65,000 square meters, marking a higher level of automated and intelligent manufacturing.
