Nanchang Eighth People's Hospital is a comprehensive medical institution with over fifty years of development history. In 1955, three institutions—Nanchang Donghu United Hospital, the Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and the Acupuncture United Clinic—merged to form 'Nanchang Donghu Hospital'. In 1988, with the approval of the Donghu District Government, it was renamed 'Nanchang Eighth People's Hospital'. In 1997, it was rated as a Grade I Class A hospital, and in 2001, it became one of the first designated hospitals for Nanchang's urban employee basic medical insurance.
