Chongqing Donghua Hospital is located in Shapingba District, an area with profound historical and cultural heritage, nestled amidst surrounding mountains, beside a flowing river, in a prosperous ancient town, and in the middle of the Shuangbei cluster. The hospital was founded in 1937. In 2005, it was restructured and renamed Chongqing Donghua Hospital from the former Staff Hospital of Chongqing Special Steel Group Corporation. It is a national secondary comprehensive non-profit hospital, a designated hospital for work-related injury, maternity medical insurance, special diseases, and chronic disease diagnosis for urban and rural residents of Chongqing, a green channel for traffic accidents, and a 120 emergency linkage hospital. Chongqing Donghua Hospital has been commended by the Shapingba District Government of Chongqing as an advanced unit in public health for five consecutive years. It has been awarded the title of National Outstanding Outpatient Clinic for Community Drug Maintenance Treatment and Chongqing Advanced Unit for Basic Medical Insurance. In 2012, it was named a Chongqing General Practice Resident Standardized Training Hospital.
